Last winter, we gave our friends—team riders, shop owners, locals, magazine editors, artists, employees—the opportunity to say what snowboarding means to them in 50 words or less. Each perspective is unique to the individual. Now we want to hear what riders all over the world think “This Is Snowboarding” means to them (in 50 words or less).

It doesn’t matter if its cloudy or sunny, if there is a perfect shaped park or just a bunch of bumps, if I’m cruisin’ fresh pow or being at a dirty mini-jib trashyard. As long as im there with my friends, I will have the best day of my life! THIS is SNOWBOARDING!!!!

I thank God for it and consider it a privilege to be able to ride good snow quite often. I love the feel of laying down a good line in good snow. Riding pow with family and friends, with no given agenda is what I like most about snowboarding.

Snowboarding is what I live for, just like skateboarding. I think about snowboarding 24/7. If I'm not snowboarding I don't know what to do. If I watch TV, I watch a snowboard or a skateboard video. Snowboarding and skateboarding are my life. That’s all I can say.

I still think it’s about rebellion. Snowboarding is being able to have a fun time with friends and at the same time piss off that stuck-up security guard or old-school skier in the lift line…. I dunno, this question is hard to answer. I think it should be changed to "What do mustaches mean to me?” In that case my answer would be the same, rebellion.

Snowboarding is a blinding faceshot powder landing. One that you sink up to your waist on, but ride out. It is also when you get a method or tweak just right. That feeling of flying through the air, really cranking it out and holding it.

Late nights. Early Mornings. Anticipating car drives. Stomping your next trick. Eating shit but getting right back up and doing it again. You aren't changing anyone else's life by snowboarding. Living for the moment. A bad day of riding is better than a good day of anything else. It's ecstasy.

Snowboarding to me is a way of life... I don't care what the conditions are as long as the mountains open n the jib and park are open I'm the happiest guy on the mountain.

Snowboarding is like nothing else to me. That one point in my week when i can lace up, strap in, take off and forget about every single thing that was clouding my mind. It's my freedom.

Snowboarding to me is as natural as a heartbeat. It is my way of living and dealing with my emotions. The feeling of being in the air, the feeling of riding over the snow, the feeling of the wind on your body. There is nothing quite like snowboarding...
